Novedades en el Kernel Linux 2.6.35

Las nuevas mejoras en el nucleo de Linux 2.6.35, son entre otras:
Mejoras en Btrfs, un frontend para depurar el núcleo con KDB, compactación de memoria, mejoras en perf, el comando de consulta de contadores de rendimiento, mejoras en los gráficos, reparto transparente de tráfico de red de entrada entre varias CPUs y soporte para varias tablas de enrutamiento para multicast.
Como activar los iconos del menu de Sistema en Ubuntu

Algo que no me gusta de la nueva versión de Ubuntu, es que en el menú de Sistema, no aparecen los iconos a la izquierda de cada opción. Podemos ver en el gráfico como se muestra originalmente este menú (seguramente en tu Ubuntu también se verá así).
Si abrimos un terminal (Aplicaciones -> Accesorios -> Terminal) y tecleamos:
<pre>gconftool-2 –type Boolean –set /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons True</pre>
Activaremos los iconos del menú de Sistema, cuyo aspecto es mas agradable que sin ellos y lo veremos así.
Como veréis el cambio es para mejor. En caso de que no os agrade o penséis que la carga del sistema aumenta y queréis desactivarlo de nuevo, solo tenéis que teclear en un Terminal (Aplicaciones -> Accesorios -> Terminal) lo siguiente:

Virtualbox 3.2.6

Guau, como va evolucionando Oracle/Sun con VirtualBox. Ya es una alternativa, libre, frente a productos de pago como VMWare o Parallels. Os recomiendo usar este producto a nivel personal. A nivel de empresas es otro cantar.

Voidy

Voidy comes to us from Niyaz of Diovo.com and sports a crisp and clean minimalistic design. That combined with the large typeface makes it easy to concentrate on the content. From the theme’s options page you can set a custom logo, include a Twitter link and offer an email subscription via Feedburner. You can also select some custom text to display in the sidebar.
Paino

Polaraul.com brings us Paino, a simple and generic theme featuring a widgetized left sidebar and dressed in an easy-on-the-eyes pastel colour palette. It has breadcrumb navigation built-in.
Clean Simple White

Another simple and clean-looking design. The use of blue for hyperlinks fits in nicely with the general appearance of this theme. It features a widgetized right sidebar as well as a widgetized 3 column footer. From the options page you can set a custom favicon as well as set up the latest Tweet widget.
Calotropis

This is a theme that comes packed with all sorts of goodies. From the theme’s options page you can:
- choose to display right sidebar, left sidebar, sidebars on either side of the main content or no sidebar at all
- select magazine-type layout or traditional blog layout
- pick one of 5 colour schemes
